NOV. 20 Tea m Calamari's Curtis Robe rts sh owed up at the final round of the Northern California Mini Road radng Association's nine-race se ries and totally dominated the da y' s racin g. scorin g wins .n four out of five classes en tered . Roberts then teamed up with Jerry Dou glas and won the 9O-minu te Team Endurance Chal.e n ge, w h ich ra n after th e day's sp ri n t races .....ere comp lete. Roberts" only loss came in the Exper t stock class in wh ich he had to settle for seco nd spo t behi nd newl y crow ned XRlOO Na tiona l cha mp Tob y Jorgenson on h is Red Line-sponsored Yamaha. Jorgenson won bot h legs with Roberts second , Ken Takeda third, Jerry Johnson fourth. and Bob Vizcarra roundi ng ou t the top five. The Expert Supersport class marked Roberts ' first win of the day. This time, however, he traded race wins with Scott Campbell but Roberts ' 2-1 wa s good enough for the overall, beating Campbell's 1-2 by a tie-brea ker point. Following Ca m p bell across the lin e were Jerry Joh nson, Ken Takeda and Bob Wilkie. For the Superbike class, Roberts pulled out all the stops and won both less going away, following him across the line were Johnson, Wilkie, Nikki Harris and Vizcarra. The SOcc G.P. race was yet another Roberts show, as he and the Team Calamari VZRBO won by a com fortable margin ov er Scott Campbell, Jeff Whibner, Takeda and Ray Ruggles . The two-hour endurance race had 14 teams sta rt, and amazingly all 14 finished . The Tea m Calamari YZR80, with Roberts a nd Douglas sharing the riding chores, led from the start and was never passed, completing 86 laps when the race was shortened to 90 minutes d ue to - ar kd ness.
