Goldstein grabs Bridgehampton Motocross win By Jim and Carolyn Simpson BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY, NOY. 26 David Goldstei n piloted his Orien t Exp ressba cked Suz u ki to the overall wi n in the 250cc Novice class at Bridgehampton MX. Ga ry Merrill and Goldstein rounded turn one to lead the 250cc Novice class at the start of moto one. Merri ll showed the wa y through the first lap with Gold stein staying a close second . Ken ny Giosi and James Bove chased the lead pair. Golds tein pa ssed Merrill ov er the finis hline jump to start lap two, but Merri ll stuck close going into the woods and made his bid for first stick, retaking the lead pos ition on the back section of the track. Bove then moved up to pa ss Go lds tein for second . Mer rill stay ed on the gas to score the moto win, as Bove held on for second and Goldstein rounded ou t the top three . Goldstein and Merrill jum ped out of the ga te in the lead to kick off mota two, while Merrill went down in tum one, letting Eric Anthrod and Go ld ste in ju m p ou t of th e w oods as the ne w lead ers . Goldstein made h is move on the first lap to secure the lead, but the action heated up, as Anthrod reclaimed the lead with a pass in the back. The race orde r was se t, with An throd first, followed by Goldstein and Jason Ha rgreaves as the top thr ee . Go lds tein made yet a not he r bid for first as he wicked it up 10 claim the lead and p ulled away for the mot o and overall win for the da y. Ramsey romps at Hidden Canyon Motocross By Gary Crider BUENA VlSTA.GA,NOY.6 Round five of the Georgia Fall Championship MX Series at Hidden Ca nyon MX saw Nathan Ramsey take both A division wins, while Ricky Carmichael top ped the Senior Mini and 125ee Youth contests. Ramsey was invol ved in thrilling finishes in both 250cc A motas. Adam Humphrey led the first moto until the final straight when Ramsey' s Honda leapt past Humphrey's Suzuki for the win. " I didn't have a plan," said Ramsey.
