Smith lands overall at Alabany Supercross By Deanna Holbrook ALB ANY, OR, )ULY23-24 Rounds fiv e a n d s ix o f th e Weste rn S ta tes Nationa l held at Albany Supercross gave Susan Smith the overall win for the weekend in the 3040 Intermediate class against Satu rday competitors Carl Chadwick and Jim Harri s and Sund ay rivals Dave Fox and Gary Doggett . In Saturday's race, Smith took second behind Chadwick in the first moto and third in mot o two behind Chadwick a nd Harris for third on the da y. But it wo uld be Sun day's competition that would det ermine the ove rall winner. On Sunday, with a field of nine riders going at it, Smith cla imed two seco nd-p lace finis hes behind Doggett in moto one, and Dave Fox in moto two, which landed her the overa ll for the weekend. Ha rris took second overall with Rick Roberts landing third overall. Other actio n saw KeviJ:I Yeager take overall h on or s in the Open Pro class, whit e Shawn Highland took the win in 2SOcc Pro class. Roby Leach was secon d ove ra ll a nd Kevin Yeager third overall. The 125cc Interm ed iate class was a one-man show, as Cory Fu ller topped Ryan Terlecki a n d Eric G ra ves for th e class w in.
