Tarres picked up seven. Going into the speed zones, the two riders were sepa rate d by four points. Tarres took control in the Speed Zone, bu t in the Ability Zone he fell to the tra ck an d picked up five points, losing ano ther point to Colomer, w ho finished that zone without difficu lty. Later, on the trials track, Colomer fell, but was able to preserve his points lead. Th e three best ride rs qualified for a run-off to determine the winner of the even t. Tarres, Colomer and Miglio were the top three, but the battle for the win quic kl y came down to Tarr es and Colom er . The trial wa s finally decided in the spee d zones, w her e Colome r asserted himself and beat Tarres by one point. Colome r maintain ed the p oin ts advan tage through the final trials-track stage to de fea t Tarres an d add another Wor ld Cup victory to his resume. With Gad dis and Billy Whit ley back in form after returning from injuries, the series poin ts lead has ti g h te ned . Gra yson Goodman still hold s the poin ts lead, but Gaddis, Whi tley, Sean Morga an d Terry Tinney are all within striking dis tance: Wh en Friday night's 125cc Pro main even t field left the starti ng line, it was immediately apparent that Jimmy Gaddis w as d e te r m in ed to incr ease hi s points ta lly; he p ull ed the ho les h ot ahead of Whitley and Trey Owens. Goodman found a fast line through the whoops and qu ickly passed into second before the pack beg an flying over the "Yama ha Catap ult." Josh Steel strug.gled to better his poo r start position and moved to fifth by the end of the last lap. Gaddis cruised out front while Goodman made a determined charge through -the lapped riders to try to challenge for ethe lead, bu t w henever he g ot close, Gaddis wicked it up . Steel continued to blast around the track, bu t had to deal . wi th lapped riders and never could get , close enough to challenge Goodman. At the finish, Gaddis took the win followed by Goodman and Steel. Owens held on for fourth w it h Ston e mo ving au p to fifth. ~ Gaddis holes hot the 250cc m ain event, seemingly still determined to better his points stan d ing. Tinney held sec-ond for some lime before Morga made a •pass on him thro ugh the double-double , section.
