OCT. 17 Chris Manning and Mike Amed eo posted wins at the fourth round of the AMA /Wor ld sp or ts Florida Go ld Cup Se rie s at the Florida Motorsports Com plex . Manning topped the If>24 class wh ile Amedeo was the man to beat in the 500cc B/C class. Wh en the I f>-24 class left the line, Willia m Batso n ju mpe d ou t to the early lead as Chris Mann ing. Jeff Neilander , Gary Allred and David Wincoll gave chase . Allred slipped by Neilander in th e second tu m while Manning took the lea d from Batson on the finish line tabletop. Manning quickly added to his lead as Batson mad e a mistake and let Allred and Neilander by. Neilander then pa ssed Allred on the tabletop. Manning held on for the moto win over Ne ilander, Allred , Batson and Wincott . In the se cond mot o, Ma nn in g shot to the fron t of the pac k as Batso n, Allred, Ne ilande r and Rob Tomlinson dodged his roost. Manning pu lled away fro m the res t of th e field while Batso n tried to ho ld off Allred an d Neila n der. Ba tson fe lt the p ressu re and bogged d own in a mud ho le as Allred , NeiIan de r, Tomlinson and Wincoll cruised by. Manni ng took the second mo to a nd ov e ra ll ahead of Allred, Neilande r, Tom linso n and Wincott. Ho nda- moun ted Armando Carrasquillo won the flrst500cc B/ C molo just ahead of Amedee, Rob Ramon, John Ashbell and Roy Dean . Amedeo had enough of Ca rra sq uillo's roost in the first moto as he ripped the ho lesh ot to sta rt th e seco nd moto C a rras q u illo. Ramon, Dean and Ashbell followed.
