Bowm an took the win, with Bowers pu tting in a
gre at effort in second . Kinde r bare ly finished on
his sick CR, taking fourth. Wayn e Nix did exactly what he had to do to clinch the series champi.~nshjp with a 7-7 motos.

12Scc Pro cla ss as he took the the victory at
round four of the GA Racing-North Battle of the
'9Os Fall Motocross series at the Hollister Hills
MX Park.
When the gate dropped for the firs t 125cc

en tered the front straightaway s wee p e r, Jeff
Pestana dropped his bike and was run over by
the rest of the pack in the process. Pestana was
given a reprieve as a restart was called. On the
res ta rt, Stan Finey too k the lead wit h Rusty
Ho lland runni ng in second. Holland went down
in the first tum, which forced Rick Ryan to shoot
off the race track and re-enter in the last pos ition. Smith moved into se co n d followed by
Jeff ery Brow nl ee, Tyler Hummel and Trevor
Meagher rounding out the top five.
At the top of the horsehoe tum, Smith pressured Finey for the lead. Fin ey for ced Sm ith
high and came out of the trees still leading while
Brownlee and H um mel were dicing it ou t for
th ird. Pesta na was battling for th e fifth spot.
Smith took the lead from Fin ey as Pestana
dropped ou t with mechanical problems. Smith
we nt on to win the moto ah ead of Hummel,
Meagher, Tyson Vohland and Ryan.
In the seco nd moto, Holland , Vohland, and
Brownlee we re side by sid e through tum one,
b ut Vohla n d he ld on a littl e lo ng er tha n th e
other two rid e rs to ta ke the lead. As the field
h ead ed into t he fi rs t la p it was Vohland,
Holland, Brownlee, Smith and Hummel rounding ou t the top five. By the end of the first lap,
Holland had take n the lead away from Vohland
and was looking as if he would p ull away from
the field. But Vohland battled with Holland
while Smith joined in to initiate a three-way bat tle for the lead.

held the lead position until the final lap whe n
Sm ith made the mo ve o n h im b efore the
"Eleva tor Shafl" Smith then went on his wa y
for the overall victory. Vohland mot ored in for
second w h ile Holland to ok th ir d ahea d of
Pestana and Brownlee.
