Jason Pearce and Steve Peterson came out on the short end of the stide and the bottom of the pile. Marc Burnett took advantage of the mayhem to grab the holeshot aboard his Kawasaki KX25O. Neary was hot on his heels along with Yamaha pilot Tony Rodriquez, Neary dove inside of Burnett in the Dunlop Rockers to grab the lead with Rodriquez following suit soon after. Jeremy Tooker and Todd Gravitt moved in on the lead pade while dicing for fourth. Gravitt got the jump on Tooker then took Burnett in the whoops on the same lap. Rodriquez kept the pressure on and at the straightaway stulfed his way past Gravitt and back into second. Up front Neary took the checkered a safe distan'" in front of Rodriguez Tyler King smoked to the win in the 12Scc Intermediate class at Barona Oaks. with Gravitt, Burnett and Tooker rounded out the top five. The second moto saw yet another first tum pileup involving Gravitt, but this time, it was Matt Hatcher who shared a dirt sandwich in tum one. Neary took the point position with Burnett riding his shirttails. Burnett was running a strong third with Pearce, Rodriguez and Tooker dicing at midpack. Pearce soared high over Animal Leap to fly past Rodriquez but then carried too much speed into the following comer allowing the Yamaha rider to make a repass. Rodriquez kept the "Rs" up and closed in on Burnett,. while Gravitt pushed Pier'" high up in the tum to make a pass on the Kawasaki rider and move into third. They weren't through yet. u there was still a quarter of the trade between the lead pack and the checkered flag. Gravitt jammed up behind Neary and actually pulled alongside the Suzuld rider who immediately picked up the pa'" to cruise to the checkered flag with his second moto win. Burnett took second in the moto, but it was only good enough to take third overall behind Rodriquez. Fourth and fifth overall went to Gravitt (3-4) and Peterson, who c:ha1ked up a pair of sixths. By the time the chedcered flag came out, Borchard had increased his advantage to approximately 20 seconds over Hemandez. The second moto went much like the first with Borchard grabbing the hoIeshot and easily pulling away for an uncontested win. Shawn Mietze powered his Suzuki to consistent moto finishes to secure second overall ahead of Hawk White and Hernandez. Paul LaIa1a rounded out the top five. Tim Reeder tallied a 1-3 score to daim the overall win in the 250cc Novice class. Reeder scored a seemingly easy victory in the first moto, leading from start to finish. 1be second moto was a different story for Reeder, however. He crashed early in the moto and had to work his way back up. He got up to third when the checkered flag came out but it was high enough to earn the overa11 win.
