eEVENTS e Jenkins had worked his way past Moore, and by the halfway point Jenkins and Moore had pulled away from Erickson as they continued to battle for the lead. Erickson, not giving up, was trying to catch the leaders. The white-flag lap saw Moore sliding out in turn two, allowing Jenkins to take the win. Erickson was the run· ner·up. Toby Jorgensen continued his winning ways in the combined SOee A/B/C class, notching the victory over fellow A rider K.C. Rigmaiden. Tyson Silva won the B/C portion. The Pro Novice class win went to Eric Bostrom. He led the pack into turn one with Michelle DiSalvo and justin Owenby right on his rear wheel. Owenby kept the pressure on DiSalvo and got by on lap five, then set his sights on Bostrum. Bostrum was able to hold Owenby off to earn the win, with DiSalvo tum~ ing in a nice ride for third place. Action in the 12See B class was intense with Mike Aldrich gating first and pulling out an eight-second lead at the start of the first moto. But Justin Blake was slicing through the pack and he began to carve away at Aldrich's lead. Then, on the fifth lap, Aldrich picked a bad line and got stuck in a mud rut, turning the lead over to Blake. Blake held on to win, ahead of Aldrich, Jack Baliard and Gerald Vanwormer. It was Blake pulling the holeshot at the start of the second moto, followed by Aldrich. The positions never changed and it was Blake taking the win for a clean sweep. Aldrich took second with Vanwormer coming out on top of a dice with Kirk Cheney to take third. The overall win, of course, went to Blake with Aldrich second overall and Vanwormer third. Feist eats up Leisure Time Grand Prix By Don Browning 30 MEDARYVILLE, IN, MAR. 28 . Connie Feist scored the win at the Leisure Time Grand Prix, which was held at Indiana's newest off-road track. The inaugural event had a turnout of 88 riders, all bent on conquering the sandy l.:>·mile course. Leisure Time did a goOd job of running the races on time and preparing the course. Aaron Pitts kicked his Suzuki to life and led the first race off the line at 11:4S. Rick Walsworth was close behind off the start, but after two laps, Feist had worked his way into the lead position. Brian Walker followed Feist to take over second, but his hopes for a win ended 1S minutes into the race when his bike seized, leaving Feist alone and in control for the remaining 30 minutes. Feist continued his pace to claim the victory. Pitts was the runner·up overall, and first in the +25 A class. The iron man award had to go to the mini riders, many of whom rode their 60cc mounts for 20 minutes in the third race, then came back an hour and a half later to again do battle in the 80cc class, on a track that had become quite challenging for the full·sized bikes. Adam Higgins snared the holeshot in the first mini race and led from start to finish. Brad Ripple led the Pee Wee-class riders, and soon began pass-ing the 60cc pilots, working his way up to third by the finish. In the fourth race, KTM/Stoughton Cycle I Axo/Cycle Shed/Oakley / Acerbis/ Duralube-backed Walker led from start to fin· ish, on a track that saw widely varying lap limes due to the ever-<:hanging conditions.
