Willlam KnIght (Hon). c: Antunez awesome at Tecate Motocross ENSENADA, B.c., MEXICO, MAR. 21 Buddy Antunez scored the overall win in the 250cc Pro class. at the Tecate Motocross at Sucro Track. In the opening moto, Mike Metzger was the early leader, followed very closely by Antunez, Shane Trittler, Mark Easley, Terry Fowler, Dana Wiggins, Donald Upton and the rest of the pack. Metzger and Antunez exchanged the lead several times until Antunez finally pulled away over the triple jump with only two laps remaining. Antunez got the holeshot in moto two, while Metzger and Fowler were involved in a first· turn crash. Antunez powered away to easily win. Behind him Upton and Trittler fought for second with Upton often getting alongside Trittler, but never able to get a wheel ahead of him. Metzger ripped his way from last place to finish fourth. In the 12See Pro class Metzger walked away with the win, followed closely by Wiggins, Joel Albrecht, Trittler, Mark Easley and Upton. Results 80 OPEN: 1. Terrence Malan (Yam); 2. ' D&DPERFORMANCE EXHAUST Miller fast in Red Bud mud By Larry Witmer BUCHANAN, MI, APR. 4 Red Bud Track 'N Trail's 20th year of motocross racing took place in cold and snowy weather, but that didn't seem to matter to over 200 riders who were on hand for the opening round of the Yamaha/Kawasaki-sponsored Spring Fling MX Series. John Avent grabbed the holeshot in the first 125cc Expert moto, with Chad Miller, Brad Kress and Adam Martin in close pursuit. Avent pitched it away on the start straight, turnlng the lead over to Miller, who at the time held a foursecond lead over Kress. Kress, however, was on the top of his mud riding and reeled in Miller with just two laps to go. Kress then got past Miller in the start line area with an outside line drive that saw him take the inside line away from Miller at the next corner. Kress then stretched his lead to the finish. The second moto saw Miller pull the holeshot and Kress laying on the ground in the first comer.
