V JaW Lynch showed up at Bridgehampton MX· and piloted away with both the 125 and 250cc Prq Expert class overall wins at the Long Island Sports Committee's Season Opener. Honda-mounted Mike Michels took the firstmoto lead with Lynch and Vincent Allegrettra chasing him into the woods. As the trio set the pace for lap one, Michels held the lead with James McIlvaine charging after the Leaders. McIlaine moved up to take over in third as Lynch jumped out of the woods in the lead. McIlvaine wicked up his Honda to grab second place, dropping Michels to third and Allegretta to fourth. Lynch a~d McIlvaine battled for the lead, but Lynch stayed on the gas and pulled away from McIlvaine. Lynch scored the moto win with McIllvaine second and Allegretta moving up to finish in third place. McIlvaine shot into the lead at the start of moto two. Allegretta and Joe Moura followed him into the woods. Allegretta jumped out first, followed by McIlvaine and Lynch. Allegretta held off McIlvaine through lap one. During the second lap Lynch snuck inside of McIlvaine to take second and camped on Allegretta's rear fender throughout the lap. Lynch made a pass on Allegretta but it did not stick, as Allegretta re'passed Lynch to take the lead again.· KPS/ Answer /Montgomeryville Cycles-sponsored Lynch cranked up his Honda and passed Allegretta again as McIlvaine began his charge for second. Mcilvaine passed Allegretta before a double and the pair chased the leading Lynch. McIlvaine caught up to Lynch and the two went side by side, but McIlvaine shot inside to take the lead. The pair stayed together until Lynch out-jumped Mcilvaine for the lead. Lynch cruised through the last lap for the win and the overall. McIlvaine scored second and Allegretta third. Lynch battled with Rob Federico and Mike Michels in the 250cc motos. Again Lynch cruised to both moto wins to capture his second overall for the day.
