Ken Coolbeth and K.C. Racing hosted a new
event during Daytona Cycle Week, a short track
held at nearby Putnam County Speedway. And
the one person who perhaps celebrated the most

ahead of his nearest competitor, who ever that
would be, either Phelps or Crispin.
Phelps and Crispin continued their duel
down to the wire with Phelps edging out
Crispin for the runner-up honors.
"The course was really nice, although you
had to use your head in the rocky sections,
because of the ice and aU: said winner Hines.
"The guy who was leading at the start let me by
and, aU of a sudden. Phelps went by as well arms and legs waving! I decided to get him
behind me as soon as I could and, after I did
that, it was smooth sailing to the checkered flag.
I have to credit my win today to my Trelleborg
studded tires, because they were the hot ticket
out there, that's for sure.'
Norton eventually worked his way back up
through the pack to finish sixth overall.
