'1 got caught in a couple of lappers.
That's racing," Stanton said. "We'll
progress from here. I'm feeling good on
the bike. 1 just really had to prepare
myself. Now I'm back to the old Jeff
Stanton."
Bradshaw rolled across the line with
his fist up in the air, then took a victory
lap around the concrete perimeter of the
track, much of it on just the rear wheel.
In the winner's circle he was more than
willing to hold up the $7000 Coors facsimile check.
"I need all the money 1 can get this
year, because I don't seem to be making
any on the weekends," Bradshaw said.
At the halfway point, Kiedrowski
dropped Craig back one spot, then
McGrath was by, dropping Craig to
illth. Swink was up to sixth after completing the first lap in fourteenth, with
Honda's Lamson seventh from the fifth
lap on. For the second half of the race,
the order of the top seven wouldn't
change.
"The track had a lot of ruts and the
triples were pretty far apart and the
doubles were farther than usual. I had
to go for it," Kiedrowski said. "It was
definitely good racing: One of our best
all year. Mike (Craig) and 1 were both
.looking good at the start, he just
couldn't hold onto it. One of these days
I'll get a good start."
"Actually I just cruised (in the
main)," four-time winner McGrath said
after finishing fourth. "If' I'd have gone
any faster 1 would have fallen down.
Don't get me wrong: 1 like winning, but
. people were making a big deal about it
and there was a lot of pressure."
. Sixth-place finisher Swink thought he
might be able to do better, but felt he
faded slightly at the end.
"1 closed a little bit, but I got a little
tired and made a few mistakes. I
dropped off the pace about the eighth or
10th lap," he said. "1 hurt my wrist a
couple of weeks ago. It's still sore. It
didn't slow' me down riding, but I can't
practice as much as I'd like."
Still, he was able to stay ahead of
Lamson, who also made some late mistakes that cost him.
"1 got close, then I hit neutral once over
a whole series of jumps and Swink left me
there. Maybe he was riding a little more
aggressively than me," Lamson said. "He
might have had a few better lines. I had a
couple of bad lines the first couple of laps
and let a couple of guys by."
Stephenson finished eighth, a spot he
took over on the 12th lap, with Larry
Ward getting the best of a duel with Phil
Lawrence for ninth. Lawrence would
take over 10th on the final lap.

The Atlanta Easter!l Regional race
drew 83 125cc entries, though the field
was whittled down through qualifiers to
40 riders, who would be split into two
six-lap heats.
Honda's Henry got the jump at the
start of the first heat and would never be
headed, though Suzuki's Jimmy Button
gave chase the whole way.
Button was safe in second, RRP
Yamaha's Tim Ferry never up to the
challenge and having to worry about
Kawasaki Team Green's Davey Yezek.
DGY Racing's Pederson was about to
make a move for fifth, but fell and finished ninth.
McGrath (15) saw his four-race win-streak ended. Stanton (1) has yet to win this year.
Not that we're complaining. After all, we wouldn't have paid out the most in award money if we weren't getting something
