Davis devastates Bridgeton TT

Chad Davis topped ,h e 250cc B fin al at th e
Bridgeton TT.
After los in g th e heat race on the last lap
to Tim Weiss. Davis learned hi s Jesson abo ut
let tin g hi s guard down wh en Weiss snuck
under him co ming o ut of tu m four to steal
the chec kered nag .
P o sitions wer e reversed i n the: m ain,
however, as Weiss gOl the holc:shot and Davis
pl ayed catchu p. Davis reeled in Weiss, the n
made his move and th e two wen t sliding
sideway s o ut of tum four towar ds the white
flag. Davis took the adva ntage, whi le Weiss
tried to mak e th e same mo ve as in th e heat
rac e. This time, Weiss found the d oor
slammed in hs face, as Davis hel d o n to his
positio n to grab th e nag.
Mike Babka wired th e field in the Veteran
class after two of hi s to ug hest co mpetito rs
were taken ou t in heat races. Duane Sta ni ck
went down ha rd wh ile cltallenging Bab ka and
Tim Blackmer in th e first heat, sustaini ng
sho ulder and ank le inj uries that ,ook him o ut
of th e main . Blackmer too k a n unsched uled
d ip in the creek alo ngside tum two in the
O pen A heat th at took hi m OUI of an y further
competi tio n with a brok en leg. The field for
the Veteran final was then narrowed to II ,
with Babka's closes t cha llen~ Dave G arde'no ur, unable to close to within mor e tha n

was able to p ick up a win in the O pen B
class, greeting th e checkered n ag wi th a
straightaway advan tage .
Rock y Watson and Don Bannerman heated
up ,he track after Wa tson go t the hol esho'
in the Senior final , leaving Bannerman to try
every way to try to chas e him dow n. T he two
riders were never more th an a wh eel awa y fro m
leach other. Bannennan lwi sted the throttle,
[bu t it wasn 't enough, as Watson crossed o ver
:th e line and grabbed th e flag first .

it was Latina with an easy win over Bischoff
