Ranch Hare Scrambles win
No unlicensed. not-street legal riding allowed

SAN ANTONIO. TX, SEPT. I
Andy T rott edged Kevin Miller in a close race
in the lron man B class at the ina ugural race
for J erry 's Kids Hare Scra mb les, I?ut on by
the Din Bikers Cl ub of San Antonio and the
Muscular Dystrophy Association at Czars
Ranch. The even t raised over $5100 for MDA,
a total they hope 10 top next year. The 100degree heat and dusty condi tions a t Czars
Ranch didn't keep the 94 riders from entering
either the two-man , tag-team class or the onerider ironman.
Trott won th e gruelin g three and a half hour
race by edging out Miller on the last lap in
the race to the checkered flag. Mill er was ahead
of T ro ll for the first three lap. un til he pitted,
giving Trott the lead Miller stayed clsoe a nd
made up a two-minute difference in the final
lap only to lose by five seconds at the checkered
nag. Miller's two pit stops to Trott's one cost
him the victory.
In the Tag T earn B even t. the teams of Brian
Mason/Jeremy Stockton and Rip Woodardl
Tom Walker ran tight throughout the race.
Mason/Stockton at one po in t had a fourmi nute load but lost it on the seven th lap to
WoodardIWalker and cou ld not rega in th e
time lost in the Iollowing 'two laps, thus
giving the win to WoodardIWalker.
