Rodney Mashue sco red th ird place by holding off Gorden Schopiera y long enough to win heat two . . Schopieray thought he scored th e win in the Pro-Am 600 cl ass. Schop iera y, Sco u Bu chan , and Brent Armbruster challenged eac h o th er severa l tim es for the lead, a nd Schopieray gained th e advan tage j ust as the checkered flag came down. It was J ack Mayer Jr. who got the decisio n however , alter circl ing 10 the outside off th e lin e. Mayer too k over the lead and twi sted th e throttle of his RTX hard eno ugh 10 lime in a tenth of a seco nd faster than Schopieray.
