More than 160 riders showed u p co mpe te in the 38th Annual Sn ow Run which was organized by th e Connecticut Ra mbl ers Me . Though there wasn 't any snow , th ere was plenty of wintery weather to go aro und. Sandstrom, Nelson nail Silver State Motocross wins By Bob Waters CARSONem , NV, FEB. 21 The seaso n opener at Silver Sta te Motocross dr ew over 200 entra nts , a nd it was Steve Nelson and Eric Sa ndstrom who captured top hon o rs in the 125 and 500cc classes. respec tively. The combined 125 an d 500cc Pro classes saw Sean Co nley grab the early lead aboard his bi!;-bore. just a head o f 125cc class com pe Utor Dan ny Pal adino. Pal adino roo sted past o n the first lap and held o n for th e mo to win over Co nley. Following tJu, two riders across the line were Sa nds tro m aboard a 500 and Nelso n o n a 125. The second moto saw Sandstrom grab th e ho leshot ahead of Nelson and Conley . Co n ley motored his 500 into th o lead o n th o second la p , but went down o n lap seven of th e ninelap moto. Sandstro m inherited the lead and greeted the finis h Iino in firs t p lace. Nolso n followed close behi nd, topping Pal adi no and Conley. • The 80cc Begin ner class drew 16 compet· itors.
