McGrath grabbed the lead at th e sta rt of th e first 1250c Pro race with Richard Saxton. Jimmy Gad d is. Cano y a nd Phil La wre nce in tow. McG rath po wered away and doubled two jum ps no o ther l25cc Pro rider a ttempted. Ph il La wre nce wo rked 10 seco nd o n his Kawasaki. while Gaddis slid inside Saxton for third. McGrath repeated his first mo to hol esho t but this time Phil Lawrence filed in behind . Lawren ce stayed dose th e first half of th e moto hopin!: for a mi stak e by McGra,h.
