It wasn 't wi thout heavy pressu re, th o ugh. since o n th e first la p H onda rider Brad Seuther and KT M p ilot Trona Free rode H arri s' rea r wheel. Harris. however. pulled o ut a six-second lead by th e fourth lap and cruised the duration to post an impressive win. Seuther slam med the door o n Free 's la te-race adva nces to take second while Free. Tim Ma ples, Alle n Terlecki and Cagiva rider Dave Kobemick filled the top six. Hart. riding a Kawasaki, soundly thrashed th e combined 125 Pro/Intermedia te class. In the first moto Har t. the lone 125a: Pro , got th e j u m p on the field , but br iefl y had challenges fro m Rod Comstock, who was ridin g the com bi ned 250cc Intermediate class. H ar t shook orr Co ms tock and br eezed to the chec kered nag while Comstock held off 125cc Intermediate winner Tony Renfro a nd second and th ird pl ace fin ishers Mike Boe an d J us tin Smi th . Mota two was a cras h -marred event as Han and Co ms tock left th e line side-b y-side but got too close coming in to turn one and lanllied. This sent Hart crashing into th e reta in ing wall wh ile Comstock went over th e bars . Both riders were uninjured and on th e restart it was the Cycle Sport-spo nsored duo agai n filling the top two spots where the y would finish. Ren fro on ce again followed the Kawasaki jockeys to net the top spot in th e In term ediat e class via I-I performances while Boe and Smith took home second and th ird after 2-2 and 3-3 sh owings. In the 80cc Beginner class Kawasaki rid ers J ason Kendrick and Gary Terlecki pi cked up moto wins . but it was Kendri ck laking the second mot o by storm to lak e the overa ll victo ry after 3-1 rides. Terlecki had a 1-3 score for second overall and Justin Mason was third with a 2-4 score. Fourth overall went th e way of Suzuki- mo un ted John Vinyard, who held o rr T erlecki .
