After dropp i n g ba ck to fourth, Everts spent th e entire moto defendin g h is p o s i t ion agai ns t Suzuki tea m ma te Ped ro T rag ter, For th e rem ainder of the race, Parker set th e pace and even tually stretched out his lead to 10 seconds over Moore, while Healey dropped back towards th e end of th e rnoto but still held on 10 th ird ahead of Everts and Tragter. Belgian Bernard Magain fini shed the rnoto in sixth, whi le British rider Ja mes Dobb took seventh. Crossing the finish line next was a nother American, Suzuki-mounted R icky Ryan. Parker, once again, jumped into the early lead a t th e start of the seco nd mota but had Puzar to contend with th is ti me. T he two riders took charge as th ey diced fo r th e lead a nd p u lled a way from Moore. Puza r mou nted a relentless a tta ck on Parker , b u t the KTM pi lot thwarted the p ursuer's cha llenges and crossed th e finish line jus t five seconds a head of the Italian. Moore finished in th ird after Hea ley dropped O UI with a broken fork stanchion tub e. Everts and Tragter, ag-ain, battled back and forth until T ragter was forced 10 retire af ter th e two collided. Everts was tryi ng to make a pass but h e s la m med in to Tragter and smashed hi s rear brake assem bly. Everts' 4-4 rnot o finishes gave th e Belgian third o vera ll. Finishing fifth and sixth in the mot o were H olland's Teus Visser a nd Frenchman Yves Dem aria. Ameri can A.J.
