Ohio 's o wn Shawn Thomas overcame a disa ppoi n ti ng th ird pl ace in th e 60cc heat with a narro w VIC to r y over Kentuck y' s J enny Hayd en in th e final. Brother T ommy Hayden made it a close three- way fini sh in o ne of the best races o f the day .
