Arctic Ca t-Suzuki Motorsportssponsored Good eas ily whipped th e 125cc Experts in both motos but someone actually kept up with him in the Pro class. Kaw asaki o f An chorage's Jason Anderson, in his first ra ce of th e yea r, tailed Good for the first part of each m oto but tired and dropped back. The two lapped almost everyone except third place Todd Haney a n d fourth place Jim McClain. McClain, on a Hirsch PorscheAudi KTM, had a tough go of it in the 500cc Expert cla ss. Northwest Glass-backed Bruce Stingley and his Honda took both moto holeshots and held off McClain for a long time but eventually McClain got by for the win. \ ~.~ Arctic Cat-Suzuki Motorsports' Haney faired better in th e 250cc Expert class by taking the overall win with a 2-1 finish . Suzuki Motorcycle & Marine-sponsored Jim Stewart won the fir st moto but a tangle with another rider in moto two made him pla y catch -up. Stewart eventually w orked up to fourth for third overall. Bloniarz had h is best ride in the final loop, losing only 12 marks for a sco re of 48 total points. He was on a Honda. Jim Emmerson picked up 10 more points than Bloniarz, ending the day with 58. Emmerson was on a Fantic, Jeff Gunia, riding his last trials in Illinois, rode his Beta to a 70. Clark Runyard won the Junior class on his Yamaha, only touching ground 14 times.
