Bray stops Russell at Roebling Road RR By Larry Law rence FAULKVILLE, GA, MAY 1 Scott Russell's string of 17 consecutive sprint race victories was broken by Russell 's old teammate Paul Bray, in WERA action at Roebling Road. Bray followed Russell for six laps before Russell's Suzuki lost a footpeg, breaking his concentration for just a second. Those races combined with his second place finishes in C Production and Open Formula earned the Jonesboro, Georgia, rider $1510 for the weekend. Cam Ross pulled off the upset of the weekend by beating the 600 Hurricanes of Kurt Hall and Mike Smith in the C Superbike race on a Yamaha FZR400. " I knew that if I could stay in their draft that I could out-maneuver them on th e last lap," said an excited Roos, Roos also sewed up Yamaha dollars in the D Su perbike race after being challenged seriously for the first time this year by Kevin Rentzell. Rentzell, riding with all. injured foot from th e previous day 's en du ra nce race, act ua lly led Roos early in th e race but even tua ll y was repassed and had to settle for the $300 second place prize.
