Komer wins L.ansing Trials By Geroge Brinkwart LANSING, NY, SEPT. 27 . Mike Komer clinched th e number one pl ate for nex t year wit h a wi n at th e Lansin g Trial s. Premier rider Komer had another hot day, dropping o n ly 35 points. The o nly section gi ving Komer any poin ts -to spea k o f was sec ti o n number 10. This secti on went over a slimy angled log and up an almost vertical bank four feet tall. This was after making a tight 900 turn which placed your front tire right at the base of th e bank. Then it was right back down th e bank into a pile of bread box sized rocks. The course went on to another tight turn , then u p another bank, through more rocks and do wn again. T hen the twist; riders had to blast up the last bank wh ich was covered wit h kn arl y exposed tree roots which had 10 be ridden o n an off cam ber. This secti on was long and bu sy. After ward s M i ke co m m en te d, " T h is is a good area for trials, it a llows the orga nizer to have a good variety in the sections. One of the . best even ts we've had this year. " Advanced rider Jody Bliss turned in a score of 73 points to bea t his nearest co m petitor by 60 poi nts.
