In the second moto Anderson was all powerful off the line and through the first two comers. This move kept him out of trouble for the whole moto and he led the entire distance. No amount of pressure from Wright could wrest the lead from Anderson. For all the hard riding Anderson was able to pick up the second place trophy behind Wright. Shade was consistent and pulled off the third overall with his 2-4 rides. Results r- oo O"l ....... Vohland8ros.dominate Sacramento _x By Nuklear Neukam SACRAMENTO, CA, SEPT. 4 Brothers Tyson and Tallon Vohland brought their Hi-Point/Kawasaki support machines out to Sacramento Raceway Park and left the Friday night stadium motocross races with Tyson the winner of the Pro class and Tallon a close second. Honda-mounted Shaun Wooten roosted into the lead of the firsl moLO of the combined Pro class wilh bOlh Vohlands in hOl pursuit. With the three trading positions in every turn for the first lap it looked sel LO be an exciting race, but then the rod let loose in Wooten's Honda and he was done for the night. Tyson took over the lead and flew on to the win while Tallon took second. Mike's Cycle Placerville Kawasaki-supported John "Melvin" Stark look third while fourth went lO Hondamoun led Cliff Austin. Mickey O'Shaughnessy finished fifth on a Honda. Tallon pulled the holeshot in moto two with Tyson a close second. BUl midway through the moto Tyson passed for the lead. On the lasl lap Tyson slowed his pace somewhat, waited for Tallon and they both flew off the finish line jump side-by-side with their left hand in the air waving at the crowd in unison. Tyson was inches in front for the win and the overall with Tallon second for second overall. Suzuki-mounted Jon Hill finished third and, with a firsl moto sixlh, fourth overall. Sleve Edwards broughl his Suzuki in for fourth for fifth overall after a first round sevenlh. Slark was fifth this moto but his opening moLO third was good for lhird overall. Results 34 PRO: 1. Blood bool8es at Ballands IIX By Mike Vancil FREMONT, CA, SEPT. 2 There was no stopping Clayton Blood lonighl in the Professional class of the weekly CMC sanctioned mOlocross at Baylands Raceway Park. Early in mOlO one Gary Rabe, sponsored by Rock Oil, AfterShocks and Moore &: Sons KTM, was able to lead Blood. This lead lasted less than a lap, bUl the persistent Rabe got by Blood in the sutter jumps. ' Only a more persistent Blood was able 10 reclaim the lead by the time the duo reached the small tabletop jump. From that point Blood wasn'l threatened and he took his Dublin Kawasaki, Malcolm Smith Racing, Jorgensen Research and Rock Oil sponsored KX to the win. A considerable distance back in third was the lu.ckless Rabe as a killed engine allowed Bruce Manzoni and his Coast Honda, AflerShock and Rock Oil-sponsored Honda by. The second moto saw a far more delermined Rabe. The lead between Blood and Rabe changed over a half dozen times before Blood could begin to relax. The rest period didn'l last long for Rabe mounled another late moto charge and came wilhin a half bike length of taking the second moLO away from Blood. Manzoni finished third and Glen Harrison was fourth. Shane Wrighl 'won the l25cc Beginner class 'with a 1-2 performance. At the drop of the gate it was Leon Frank with the holeshot but Wright look away lhat advantag, as the pair entered the STutter jump series. Jason Shade came up lO challenge and was able to gel by Frank who lhen took a lighl spill. Shade was fighting for his second place with Duane Anderson who brought up his Santa Clara Cycle Salvage and JT Support-sponsored Honda to do battle. Felicio started against the wall in his firsl heat but had to settle for second while John "The Spoiler" Grant took his Sam's Leathers/JAG Support Group backed machine to the win. Doug "Couonwood Kid" Mignano took third with H&:S Cycles/Pacific Supply-sponsored Mark Squadrino fourth. Felicio won his second heat after Sleve Orlandi crashed while in the lead. Ken Griffin/San J oaquinsupported Ken, Thiebaud moved in for second while Orlandi salvaged a lhird ahead of Tony Morgan. On lap two and in lum two Repperl held the throttle wide open and squeezed inside Yarbrough to take the lead where he stayed for the win. McCabe led from start lO finish in moto one, lhen passed Marlin halfway lhrough the second round LO score the win. McCabe and Martin blasled the reSl o[ the pack LO the firsl lum in moto one wilh McCabe OUl front. Martin pulled in behind McCabe and slarted lO pressure him, but McCabe's heavy training paid off and he was able LO hold off the char$e of Steve Martin.
