It's funny. One of the most popular classes
in enduro competion is the 250cc class, but
250cc production enduro bikes are nearly
impossible to come by. If you wanted to
run down to one of your local
Honda Suzuki Yamaha or
'k'

production 250cc enduro model to
choose from, and that one would be
a four-stroke.
But what if you wanted a twostroke? Then what?
Well, KTM is one of the few
manufacturers left that still offers a
pure-bred, 25Occ, two-stroke pToduction enduro motorcycle in the United
States. That means you could actually roll the Austrian-built KTM250
Enduro right off the showroom floor
and into the back of your truck, drive
straight to an enduro and race the
bike., What's nice about.t?e KTM is
that It wouJd be compe~uve, too.
Most 250cc enduro bIkes you see
at the races started Life as full-fledged
motocrossers, then were transformed
into enduro bikes by installing
timekeeping .equipment, lights,
fenders, a Larger gas tank, hand
guards and other equipment
(depending how serious an enduro
rider you are). The KTM has nearly
all these things right off the bat.
In a sense, the KTM250 was born
as a motocrosser, as well. But by the
time it left the factory, it had
experienced some internal changes
that made the KTM250 more suitable
for enduro riding. Some of these
