Glen Helen MX win to Young By Terry Whytal SAN BER ARDINO, CA, FEB. 22 Cagiva's Mike Young rode to a convincing win uver a tough field of area pros in the 125cc Pro class at Glen Helen MX. Young had lo battle a rapidly improving Jimmy Palmer throughout the mows as Palmer kept his Kawasaki on the pi pe and earned second avera II honors. Suzuki rider Willy Musgrave took third overall honors, ahead of Kawasaki rider Aron Martin and Yamaha pilot Ti Swartz. John Ray had things a bit easier in me 250cc Pro class as he powered his Honda to good starts and big leads while his top competition bauled traffic and bad lucie Suzuki rider Luther French earned me runnerup's share of the purse with Hondamounted Todd Lehmans taking third. Yamaha rider Jim Corley posted a 1-2 lo gain the win in the 250cc Beginner class. Donnie Mauer picked up me second place trophy with a 2-3 mow score. Dave Galland was third overall. Yamaha rider Tonrad Rodri· guez deserves special mention fOI coming back from a disastrous ninth place finish in mota one lo win me second mota and earn fourm overall. Results OPEN PRO: 1.
