SUZUK QUAD RACER Perry parades at Marion County MX CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES By Gwen Millan REDDICK, FL, FEB. I Odessa, Florida rider, Gina Perry, scored a victory in the Powder Puff class at the third round of FMC's Winter Cup Series held at Marion County's Motocross track. Perry's Honda gotajump on the field as they came off the gate and she never looked back. The real showdown of the class was between Carie Maloy from Valdosta, Georgia, and Laurie Kitsch from Orlando. In fourth was the promoter's daughter, Chris McQuaig on a Honda. Assuming fifth place from Thomasville, Georgia, was last year's Powder Puff champion, Dean Joiner. As the race continued the top three riders closed into a tight formation, and the battle 'was three abreast at times. Speeding by the white fl.ag, Perry had lapped several of the riders. Her solid ride led her tovietory while Yamaha-mounted Maloy and Kawasaki-rider Kitsch battled fiercely for second and third. A short length behind, Joiner crossed the line in fourth, followed by Patty Millan on a Honda, who had taken advantage of McQuaig when she got into trouble. The second moto again saw Perry break away from the pack when the gate was dropped. But the real racing action once again belonged to Maloy and Kitsch. Closing the gap in fourth, Brown was soon to be in the hunt also. . Repeating her form as in the first moto, Perry held the lead and was never really challenged to the end of the mow, with lappers finally separating Maloy and Kitsch with Kitsch WATCHITf YOUR LOCAL SUZUKI DEALER CALl (21~ 515-5115 FOftS1llllllSlOiISIIlP IIM.,_ Motorcycle World with Larry Huffman . . . via satellite This Sunday's Special guests are: ** MALCOLM SMITH ** Star of On Any Sunday Ind Founder of Malcolm 'Smith Products and ** BILL McINNES ** RIce Director of die Viewfinders Grand Prix It comes to you live, every Sunday night from 10 to 11 p.m. KOLA 99.9 FM KTIM 100.9 FM KSCO 1080 AM Los Angdes Riverside San Francisco/Oakland Orange Co.lSan Bernardino Call in and lalk with allthr top pe.rsonalitits and"" part of motorcyclr world. 1·(800) 228-5249 or (71~) 951-1962 Saota Cruz XTRA "Extra Gold" 690 AM Strong"st AM Station in Wesl,'rn U.S. Sponsored by SUZUKI Right On Suzuki
