A crowd of 4800 fans were on hand for the Fall Four Star Class A AMA Hillclimb today and it was Lou Gerencer besting the 750-fool course in the quickest time to take the win. Three jumps in the course made it difficult for both new and experienced riders, but Gerencer posted a 9.81second first run on his Harley and followed that up with an 8.09 second auempl. Riders are allowed two runs unless the bike doesn't trip the timing lights and then a third run is allowed. This happened to Canadian Greg Williams riding an STP special in the 500cc B class. His first run didn't count because of no time. His second run resulted in a crash at 425 feet, but his third run netted him a 9.82- enty-nine riders were on hand to ride the excellently prepared high bank oval before a standing room only crowd. Williams holeshot the 200cc final with joel Barrow tied to his rear wheel. Barrow held tight until Williams opened up a small·lead at the halfway point. john King closed up on Barrow from his third place POSition, but the checkered flag saw Williams, Barrow, King and Kevin Woodruff finish in that order. Williams found himself in front once again in the Open class main with the other seven riders flying ina wedge behind. Williams stayed down low with riders running three abreast on the multi-line track. David Lamb had second nailed down with Terry Ebelhar, john Clark and Scott Lamb running in that order while Todd Bo~>ten and Bill jackson saw their rides come to an end by falling off. The pack stayed close to the finish, but positions stayed the same. The most exciting race of the evenjngcame from the I 25cc class. Lamb and Barrow were runningat the front with Lamb in the point position. Barrow wajted to make his move unlillap seven when he slipped underneath going into turn three to taU the lead. On the last lap the two riders ran neck and neck down the backstraight with Lamb going to the top of the track and Barrow staying down low. Lambs' line paid off as he nipped Barrow at the line by half a wheel for the win. Bobby Dowell joined the trio in the winner's circle after a race long battle with Tommy Hayden. Barrow got the win he was looking for in the 65cc final with a wire-towire run. Tommy Hayden kept him in sight to card second. Jarrod Barrow scored third after holding off Todd Booher in the eight lap evenL jenny Hayden ran away and hid in the Automatic final to take the win. joshua Knott held 0(£ a determined Nick Hayden to take second while Jason Goodwin ran fourth. .
