Charlie Morris (Hus) was second with Cliff Thomas (Yam) third. The first three Sundays of November will see important enduro events taking place in California. The final two rounds of the 1986 Hi-Point Golden State Enduro Series will take place with the CEA Enduro at Red Mountain running on ovember 2 and the Wild Boar Enduro at CoaJinga on November 9. Both enduros are AMA National Championship Series rounds. ThefinaJ '86AMADistrict37 enduro, the Checkpoint M.e. Bad Mountain Enduro, will run in Gorman on November 16. For more info on all three events, call Grant Palenske at 714/643-9108. The September 21. October 5 and October 19 MX events at High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, have been canceled, according to promoter Rita Coombs. The notification arrived after the Calendar had gone to press. so those events will still appear in that section. HosPITal STOP: No less than five racers were transported to the hospital following accidents at the September 14 San Jose Mile. Experts Mickey Fay of Washington and Don Roberts of California were injured in a practice crash when Fay lost it in turns 1-2 and Roberts couldn't avoid a collision. Fay was treated for minor injuries and released, according to the AMA, but Roberts is listed In serious condition, repOrtedly suffering from six broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Randy Triplett of Minnesota went down in turn four during Expert time trials; he wa treated for a broken collarbone and released. Three California riders tangled in turns 3-4 'during the second Junior heat race. According to AMA reports, which were sketchy 'as Cycle News went to press, Tim Skov suffered a broken collarbone and broken pelvis, Ken King sustained minor injuries, and Frankie Garcia was not injured.
