In the first molO, Kawasaki-mounted Jay Kremm grabbed the holes hot followed by Richard May and Heppner. May quickly lOok over the top spot while Heppner fought off the attempts of Don Passovanl. May was first through the checkered flag with Kremm following 13 seconds behind the leader. Heppner and Passovant followed Kremm. In the second molO, Heppner lOok the lead off the gate with Passovant close behind. May, who was in seventh in the beginning of the second' lap, began passing the riders ahead of him in an effort lO reach the front runners. By the end of the second lap. Passovant was still on Heppner's back tire and May had moved inlO third, 12 seconds behind the two riders ahead of him. Heppner took the win with PassovanL finishing a close second for third overall. The hard-riding May finished within four seconds of the front runners in third to take second overall behind Heppner. Jon Agin took the double moLO win in the 250cc B class. In the first moto, Agin grabbed the holeshot followed by Eric Retting. ReLting remained wiLhin three seconds of Agin during Lheentire molO wiLh Tim Pizzute finishing third. In the second moLO. Agin again lOok the lead with Pizzute in second. Agin held an eighLsecond lead ahead of Pizzute as the LWO riders finished first and second. Wayne Becker followed the duo to lake third. Agin continued his domination of the B classes as he led the first molO of the 125 c B class from the drop of Lhe gate lO the checkered flag. However, Agin was unable to make a double moLO sweep of the class as his bike, in need of repairs. left him standing track side when (he gate dropped lO start the second moLO' With Agin out of the race, Kawasaki-mounted Mar· cu Sellards took the lead to start the molO and. despite the aLlempts of Shane SloLher, Sellards held the lead. Sellards lOok the overall with his 2-1 molO finishes followed by Slothers who finished 3-2. In the 80cc 12-15 class, Kawas.akimounted Mike Tucker LOok the double moto win. Grabbing the holeshot LO start the first molO. Tucker lOok the checkered flag 13 seconds ahead of second place finisher Tony Bonace. Mike Snyder ran the entire moto in third until the final half lap when Tim Boce managed to slide around Snyder. Bucker, Bonace and Boca made the 1-2-3 sweep in the second molO as the three riders grabbed their finishing positions through the first turn. The Wheeler brothers Greg and Mark finished 1-2 in both molOS of the 250cc Open A class. Rick Lutes followed the duo through the checkered flag in both motos. Results PEE WEE; 1. FL, JULY 27 There was a battle in the Mini 60cc class today as Kawasakimounted Joey Silcox took home the first place trophy from Gateway Raceway. During the firsL molO, Jason Lorge lOok the holeshot followed by Silcox; John WaLson Jernigan trailed the L leade.rs. It was a battle for first wo and second in what· was a close race. Lorge won the firsL moto as Si lcox kept his second plate position with Jernigan taking third. During the second molO, Lorge got the holeshoL once again followed by Billy Buteraugh and Jernigan. As tbey came over the table lOp the three leaders piled up at the bouom giving Silcox the lead. Jernigan. however, didn't give up.
