This lime Murphy finished fourth and got third overall since Mike Dunlap posted a 2-3 for a bener five points than Murphy's five. Joe Hopkins had no difficulty outrunning the rest of the 12Scc Pros for first money. In the 2SOcc Beginner race, "Lucky" Feinstein gave convincingdemonstra· tion of how he earned his nickname as he came from last to second in moLO one then parlayed a lucky bounce off an unseen obstacle into a second in moto two. David Alford had to work a lot harder in the 2SOcc ovice event but work hard he did. moving into the lead by the middle of both moLOS to earn the overall. Ken Neitzel worked his way up from midpack in each moto to a pair of seconds. The 2SOcc Intermediate race was another swap-a· lot affair ending in another three·way points tie. Kenny Parry had the second moLO to earn the overall with Ken Gauthier getting second. Big Bad Bart of the Infamous Bul· loney Bros. had to grind his way from the middle at the start of moto one of the SOOcc Beginner race to take the win. Kelly Wade followed in the second. Bart got the holeshot in moto two, but he wasn't bad enough and Wade went smoothly by to lead for most of the race and earn the overall first with Bart bagging second. Kelly Doyle continued his hot streak in the SOOcc Novice class. He had to fight for the lead in both motos but pre· vailed by midrace, taking both motos for the overall. Tom Smith toted a third and a second for second overall. • • '&· ... PEE WEE B: 1. Dustin Nelson (V.m); 2. Matthew Ptckering (yam); 3. Frankie NaYllrro (Vern). PEE WEE A: 1. Chris Wheeler (Vam); 2. Herman doubles BerwickSX By Thorn Veety BERWICK, PA, JULY S Steve "Little Guy" Herman returned to Evansville Raceway's supercross track Saturday evening and repeated his dou ble class victory of two weeks ago, winning the overall in Mini Expert and 12Scc Amateur action. Herman bested National Amateur Champion "Hammerin" Hank Moore, who was in town to help pay homage to his long lime teacher and friend Tony DiStefano, who was being honored at the Evansville facility the following day. John WalLOn grabbed the holeshot in the first 125cc Amateur qualifier with Herman, Terry Kuhn and Brian and ScOll Monty on IUs tail. Herman out-jumped Walton to grab the lead on lap twO, with Tim Nichols moving into fifth. It was all Herman as he led the last five laps for the win over Kuhn, Walton, Nichols and Steve Earnest who moved up from a mid· pack start. Dave Lockits grabbed the lead in the second qualifier wi th Chris Netelkos, Mike Bilardello, Steve Singleton and Dan Amiano in the hunt. Lock· its held on for a couple laps before Steve Singleton, who was on the gas, took over the lead and held on for th" win. Netelekos took second ahead of Lockits, Jim Maguire and Jason Noroshelski. Steve Earnest took the holeshot in final action with Herman. SingleLOn, Nichols and Lockits all right there. But it was Herman in front at the end of the first lap and there he stayed fighting off challenges by Singleton, who was doing amazing things on last years bike, and Nichols who kept them both in sight. Herman took the win with Singleton in second, fol· lowed by Nichols, Walton, Earnest, Kuhn an Lockits. Results MINI JR: 1. Jeson Prokopc:hltk (Kaw); 2.
