My plan is LO holeshot the second moLO and stay out fronL" Dennis Parker was the only other rider who could keep the NaughLOnl White duo in sighL Parker took his Honda to third after a hard fought battle with Billy Carlson. I.azor zaps 'em at Action Park Spdwy By Todd Kroh GREENE, NY, JUNE 28 George Lazor was this week's only repeat winner from the previous Saturday's action as he took the Division One Scratch main at Action Park East Speedway. Mike Buman ws the recipient of the Handica flalLas Damien Cornwell sucke up e Diviswn Two competition. . Lazor spent the second week on his new Jawa exactly the same as he did the first week, circling the Action Park East oval with the Division One Scratch main checkered. After not transferring out of his Handicap heat, Lazor knew he had LO do it in the Scratch competition. He came out and won his qualifying heat over Tom Burge, Jim Nabinger and Division One newcomber Pat Cliff. He then went on LO top his semi final heat over Bruce Nelson, who had to duke it out with Ted Fey for the second qualifying position and Dale Wakefield. Lazor met Nelson and Burge again in the main along with Mark Edwards. Nelson came out mounted on Fey's machine, as his Godden's new belt drjve went sour during the Handicap feature. AU four riders flew out of the gate into turn one. Edwards, who had the pole position, led momentarily out of turn two but Lazor shot by Edwards down the back chute and into turn three. He began to widen his lead but Nelson was relentless. Although riding a bike that was very unfamiliar, Nelson began closing the gap to give Lazor a run for it. His efforts came up a bikelength short at the Don Hawkin's checkered flag giving Lazor his second consecutive Scratch main victory. Tom Burge outlasted Edwards for third place. It appears that Lazor and Nelson will be waging a season long competition for top honors in Division One Scratch racing. John Lewis is the only rider besides the duo to take a main event this year.
