ligl:lls imd Jim Steffey had his second class win when the dust cleared. His Kawasaki triple carried him to a winning 5.37 inch ride in the first round and when Steve Daniels' time of 5.70 inches was all there was to beat, he didn't even take his second ride. Third went to Robin Senn at 7.16 inches and fourth went to Jim Roberts at 7.52 inches. The longest trip of the class without going over was good en'ough for fifth and that was 116 feet by Roger Hackbarth. The Open class and the Harleys were what the big crowd had come to see but despite the cheers of the crowd Tom Rollins blasted his big Yamaha thumper to a .01 inch win over Ron Adami's Hog. Rollins posted a time of 5.81 inches to take the win and Adami went over at 5.82 inches for second. The only other man.to break the lights in the Open was Gary Adami on his Harley and after a lot of noise and roost and screaming fans he got it there at 8.40 inches to take third. Villegas victorious at Vegas By Dick Goodwin LAS VEGAS, NV, JUNE I Frankie Villegas, racing for the first time since his injury, battled his way to first place in the Junior Cycle Novice class at Las Vegas Motocross Park. Frankie, who fractured an arm racing in the Tri-State competition, proved that the enforced layoff hadn't slowed him down, as he rode two solid motos to capture the crown. Dixie Kawasaki's Chad Anderson led Greg laratiegui, Villegas when the gate dropped on race one. Anderson relinquished his lead after having trouble on the first lap and lar'atiegui took 'command as Villegas chased him for the ·rest of the race. Sean Conner finished in third. Anderson popped the holeshot again in mota two, with l;Jratiegui and Villegas camped on his rear fender. laratiegui elbowed his way past for the lead and was looking good to take all the marbles until a crash in the back section of the track disabled his bike and transformed him into a spectator. Chad Anderson took advan.tage of this unexpected turn of events to just barely edge Villegas at the finish line. Conner finished third once again. The final results sHowed M/C Tire Center's Villegas with the overall, followed by Anderson, Conner, laratiegui and Matt Camden. In other action, Johnny Camden was unstoppable in the 80c{ Stock Novice division, winning both 'races with ease.
