I suggest, Senator Cranston, that you withdraw S2061 as not being in the best interest of the majority of the American people, and that you throw your support and that of the 21 environmental groups you name in the Congressional Record, behind the efforts of the BLM and Forest Service to fufill their Congressional mandate to recommend wilderness areas to Congress for resolution. 52061 covers such a large and diverse area that it should never be considered as a whole, and it should never be considered in a short time frame_ Congress, knowing how complex this issue is, has allowed the BLM and Forest Service many years to evaluate these areas before presenting them back to Congress by 1990. After all, I am still waiting for a reply to my phone calls to your office and to a letter that I hand delivered to you personall yin 1985 requesting information on your wilderness additions to the Golden Trout and Domelands Wilderness areas.
