Some riders were caughllwo minules early. The big speclalor event of the ?ay was the hillclimb contest. After the riders finished the event al mile 75.0, hillclimb conteslants rode on lO mile 75.2 where lhey were allowed lWO allempls al the tricky and sleep hill. Riders were judged on lime, form and showmanship. Yamaha-mounted Kerry Wisdom blasled up the hill, amazing everyone wilh his speed and slyle. Wisdom look the $50.00 cash prize for his performance. A lie for lhe mOSl speclacular crash on the hill went lO Allen Hobgood- and Sleve Rockco. Of the 265 rider entered from seven different Slales, 214 received finisher ribbons al the end of the 56 ground mile event. Results OVERALL A: 1. Gary Johnston. OVERALL B: 1. Mark Dunaway.
