Beyer won th e first m o to as well as th e o vera ll , but took seco n d to Bell in m ota two. Anoth er stu n n ing pe rformance was tu rned in by Chris Pa terso n , wi nner o f th e 60cc B and 80cc C even ts. T h e first 80cc C mota had Salem 's Troy F ull er (Ya mah a Sports Center) fly into th e lead , going wir e-t o-wire to top th e m o ro a fte r a battl e wi th D ustv Bro wn (Ka w ), Brown went su per fast, bu t had to sett le for runn er's-u p a head o f Pa terso n , wh o took third. Mo to two had Bro wn tak e cha rge, pulling a way , o n ly to hav e Pa terso n whittledown hi s lead. Rogstadt push ed past Olsen a nd just a bo u t th at ti me, the 250s were un lea sh ed, led by Doug Lan ge ( Ma ru sh in / Ya m Support/ Fox ), wh o sported new National number 95 pl at es. Lan ge breezed to th e w in in the 250cc C portion, 'b u t the race wa s do m ina ted by Beyer. The seco nd tim e o ut had Beyer aga in lead , o n ly to los e it to an onthe-move Bell (Newberg H o nda ).
