T he 33-mi le- lo ng lo o p began a t a hot 24 mph through hills and washes into ch eckpoi nt one. Then ca me a one-mile reset that baffled everyone . The actua l traveled mileage was 2.2, but w ith the reset the odorneter readings were 3.2, right into ch eckpoint t~·o . Circling arou nd th e H ig hway 39:> -:- Tro~a roa d area - the loop ended wi th a ligh t 30 mph test into the las t a nd final check, a tie- brea ker.
