In the second stan, it was Rick Delong back in action and doing the leading over Ross and Jerry Cabral. Just before the halfway flags, Delong and Ross were bOlh on the ground after a collision with Cabral. Ros remounted first and set sail for the troops. Riding faultlessly, and with the crowd cheering him on, hecaughtand passed the lot for the overall with a half a lap to spare in the 30 minute moto. J P Morgen returned to the states after a summer on t,J'Je GP European tour to win the 125cc Expen hands down, and, in the Vet Expen, Morgen (31) and Russ Powell put on quite a display of riding with Powell emerging the winner on his KTM. The brothers act of' Jim and Bill McClinton was one of good and bad news. Jim won the OT Expen <:Iass both times, while older brother Bill crashed more times than he liked to tell abOut. Dr. Fred Cameron topped the Jr. class, while ex-spons car racer Howard Womack took the Novice show on his Petaluma Yamaha. Harsha tonight took the Open Pro main event just as he has many times at the beef barn. while fellow Expert and Frank Word III burned a thrilling 250cc A main event.
