Barberie took a second in the first moLO and then ran away with the second on his way to victory. A pair of Kawasaki led the stan of moLO one, with Dave Moss and Rich Wallace leading Barberie out of the fir t turn. After a lap the positions remained the same while fourth-place Jeff Trappe (Hon) fought to hold o£f Allied Suzuki's Roy Bloodworth. This ballie brought them up LO the LOp three, and for the next lap Moss led a five-rider crain around the COUT e. Wallace was constantly looking for a way to get the lead. but could never find it. At about mid-moLO the race split into two di tinct ballie : one for fir t and the other over fourth. Moss continued his reign, while Barberie's allemptto gain second from Wallace failed. Back in fourth Trappe was ju t ahead of Bloodwonh who had Ron Mowry (Hon) on his tail. With two laps to go, things began LO change as Barberie squeezed by Wallace for second and Bloodworth fell, losing fifth position to Mowry as well as a lot of ground. Barberie followed Moss quite closely on the final lap but never got by. Wallace dropped back and was a distant third, while Trappe held fourth over Mowry. Barberie wa n't about LO follow anyone in the second round and led by about five bikelengths into the first turn.Bloodworth, Mowry, and Moss filed in behind.
