Hyde scores Osage MX win By Brian George OSAGE, WY, JULY 22 Nintey-five riders converged upon the Osage motocross track Just outside of Newcastle today for round seven of the Border- the injured Friend who was out for the rest of the day, along with Cun Hyde and Stace Waugh. As Stork took command, Waugh pulled into third ahead of the two Hyde brothers, with Molder a strong second. The two leaders began to pull away from the pack early on, and by the finish Stork and Molder were well out front. Stork was the rider who lOOk control of this molO, and despite Molder's efforts, by the checkered nag, Stork had compiled an insurmountable lead ahead of Molder, who in tum was comfortably ahead of Waugh. In the sixth lap, Melvin crashed and Tony Rooney, Kawasaki, took over third. Cunningham rode to the checkered with a sixsecond lead ahead of Zilkey and Rooney. With a 30-minute molO completed, Cun.ningham came out of the pits with a fresh bike to ride in the 250 A class. He gated perfectly and led wire 10 wire, leaving john Evoy, Honda, and Rueban Springman, Suzuki, 10 battle over second and third. Springman pressured Evoy the entire race and tried to passon the infield corner during the next four laps. Cunningham rode out front enjoying a sixsecond lead. The race concluded with Cunningham first, Evoy second and Springman third. In the 250 B class, Travis Acheson, Honda, nailed the holeshot and looked like he belonged in front. BUl 5tuan Lamont, Suzuki, known as a dow starter, was moving up from sixth place and took over during the third lap. Andrew Lochhead, Yamaha, also moved up from fourth to second displaying a riding style similar to Lamont's: purposefull and aggresive. Acheson, who had led for two laps, now found the third-place slot difficull to defend as Raul Tenorio diced with him for that space. Meanwhile, Lamont pulled away from the pack and Lochhead cruised in second. Tenorio crashed during the sixth lap and Acheson mOlored to a third. R....1ts . By Paul Nielsen Rob Parker, in the 125cc A class, and Archie Parker, riding in the I25cc C class, showed the competition their rear fenders through most of the onemolO race at Hannegan Speedway on Thursday night. Rob Parker (Hon) got of( a little slow, but was in first place at the completion of lap one, in the 125ccA class. Working their way through the pack were Charlie CharltoR (Hon) and Paul Rowan. In the third lap, l Chari IOn was in second and Rowan, was pressing. Rowan moved into first place on lap five, displacing Parker. The bailIe was not over, how· ever, as Rowan went over a berm 10 lose two positions. Parker retook first, with Charlton in second. Rowan recovered to get third by the checkered flag. Archie Parker (Suz) was in seventh place in the first turn of the 125cc C race, then blasted his way to the from . during the first lap. Parker enjoyed a good lead, with Rob Hannan a distant second. But Adrian Moelker was coming, and in the fifth lap, moved into third. Hannan could hold Moel· ker of( for only two laps, then Moelker moved to second and set his sights on Parker. But, time ran out, and at the checkered it was Parker, Moelker and Hannan. Rueban Springman (Suz) boleshOl the 250cc A class and led the pack wire to wire. When Rick johnson (Hon) retired with bike problems, Wesley Curtis lOOk over second, while Danny Bullock and Kevin Zilkey battled for third.
