Last week Peters won the 250cc Novice class and decided it was time for him to advance to the Juniors. To give him an edge on the competition. Peters received some riding instruction from Warren Reid. Pelers lead from the start of the first mota. When hecame to the tight corner JUSt pasl the sweeper. his Honda stalled. Marc got underway without losing his position although second place Loren Pochirowski gained some yardage. Peters lead till the end over Pochirowski. Duke Renni~. Kent Hawksworth and Keith McMillen. McMillen was racing a 125 last year. but tonight he was mounted on a 250, and leading the final malO. Pochirowski was in second over Hawksworth while Don Shaw was holding back Marc Peters for fourth, until Shaw developed several bike problems. CA, APR. 15 Runover Ron roosted the Over The Hill Gang Experts class by coming from dead last to second in the first mota and winning the second race at" L.A. County Raceway. Ron took the first turn wide in the first molO trying to recover from a bad start and got nerfed over the berm. Relentlessly, Ron berserked around the track passing as many as three riders per lap. Meanwhile, Klark Kent was enjoying an early lead, while Rollover Rick tried to stay with the speeding Kent but didn't have the stamina and faded early. By lap five, Ron was up to a distant second and Eddie Tanner was consistent and placed fifth in the 125cc Junior class' during AME motocross competition at Indian Dunes Cycle Park. gaining ground on Kent rapidly. On lap eight, Ron tried a move at the triple jump and nearly fell giving Kent a few seconds of precious time. Ron came back lO pressure the leader, but could not force a mistake in the last few turns before the checkers fell. Guest rider Bob Millner finished third after a second lap mishap that dropped him to the back of the pack. Mota two started with Klark Kent again in the lead followed by Bob Millner and Runover Ron.
