Beeause ~ CeRfomill-Northem Nay; Team Green's Tim Michlitsch (Eastside Kawasaki/Chuck Sun Apparel/ATK/LRD) found himself up frontas the first stanza of 125cc class rounded tum one. Behind him WP Racing's Eric Hall, Yamaha's Jim Anderson and Kawasaki-mounted Steve Oster were in the next three spots, dicing for position. Anderson's bike started sounding funny during lap two. putting an end 1O his chances. Hall succumbed to hard-charging Ted Holt, giving Holt the second spot and on lap three. Oster was left with a broken collarbone after fighting a losing battle with the whoops, moving Marvin Waldo and Jim Wiant in the founh and fifth spots. Michlitsch. Holt and Hall separated themselves from the rest of the field with that order holding to the finish. The second moto was a MichlitschAnderson duel for nearly the entire race. After Anderson got by Holt and Hall during the second and third laps, he zoomed in on Michlitsch's rear fender to begin a come-frombehind effon that wound up just shon. Michlitseh took his second win and the overall while Anderson, Holt. Hall and Waldo rounded out the top five.. The Larson brothers, Phil and Mike, made their first-ever appearance at PIR, and what an appearance it was. After dueling with Michlitseh for a couple of laps in the first 250 race, Phil blew by and walked away to take the win. Michlitsch kept up the pace for second. Mike Larson was third. with Maico's Scott Tyler, Honda Suppon's Dave Hettinga and KTM rider Rod Keller third, through sixth. :rhe second molO left long-time PIR racers and workers in awe as Michlitsch. Mike and Phil Larson and Anderson put on one of the most exciting races anybody has seen around here for a long time. Michlitsch left the fray with problems on lap two, leaving Mike, Phil and Anderson to put on a great show. On lap six Anderson sped past Phil with a nice pass and moved up to challenge Mike. Phil had lost no ground and was right behind the Yamaha-supponed Anderson. Anderson got past Mike on lap eight and was able 1O stay ahead of Phil. who also passed his brother on lap eight, ror the remainder or the race. _ Results PP: 1. Pltricia Lyon. (ylm); 2.
