The Sen iors and Veterans ' co ntest saw 500cc Expert Fred Edwards tak e com m a nd and hold it to the en d with 500cc Expert Ed Ellis sett lin g into second. 500cc Expert Sen ior Rick Wa tson taking thi rd overall and first turn leader Bill Larson. 200cc Expert. settling for fourth by the end of th e race. When a mixed bag of 200, 250 and 500cc Vets and Pros shot orr the lin e. Randy No rman 's 500cc Yamaha was once more in command wi th Mike Sixbery taking co ntro l of the 200cc division . A tight dice went down between 500cc Pro Kevin Davis and 250cc Pro Roy Yokum. Yamaha su pport 125cc Pro Mark Dennin g. of Orange County Cycle. took a spectacu la r win for his division. running n inth overall. . When th e ch eckers came out. Davis led the way with the 500cc as well as overall win for Wheelsm ith Maico and KTM . It was a gr eat da y for Wheelsm ith with Davi s' teammate. 500cc Vet Randy Rodriguez, win n ing h is division as well as fin ish ing 11th overall. Norman claimed seco nd overall and Craig Adams wa s first 25Occ. third overall. Rincon Kawa sak i Amateur Jason Prater led the 81-200cc charge in ta n dem with Larry J ones. Prat er broke aw ay and soo n was ou t'of sight of hi s n earest competitor. Prater em erged the victor.
