Now a five -ti m e wi n ner of the roughest a nd o ldes t hare a nd houn d arou nd, joh nson ea rned $700; first 125cc Expert Bill y Hill (Suz) and first 250cc Ex pe rt Kevin jones (Yam) eac h got $200 . H ill fin ish ed n inth ove ra ll, an d j o nes was fourth. j ohnson led a group of a doze n rid ers 10 th e smoke bomb, and th is grou p began stre tchi ng o u t a lead o ver the pack o f 300 plus. Strong was th ird, j ones fourth overall and first 250cc Expert.
