It was a mad scramble as the 125cc Ju nior division two riders got underway in the first mota. Rich Lloyd was the early lea der but dropped back. R ick Bruhan ski took his a ncient Suzu ki o ut and su rp rised a few watercoo led bikes. H e was u p front bu t then dropped back a lso. From there on it becam e a two ma n ba ttle between Eddie Crai g a nd John Bush. Craig had th e lead secured ti ll he mi ssed a sh ift and Bush sa iled o n by. Lloyd still man aged th ird. Cra ig was third o r fourth at th e sta rt o f the fin a l ro u nd. H e moved up rapidl y but And y Hernandez was rig ht af ter him . Hernandez took over the lead with Craig in second and Lloyd in th ird. Bush won th e fir st mot a but this tim e he and another rider bit it in a corner. Consisten cy paid off for Cra ig as his pai r of seco nds earned him the first p lace trophy over Hernandez an d Llo yd. Prem ier Ya ma ha's T im Lineh an had a good lead in th e first mota of the 125cc J u nior d ivisio n th ree race. Tim led it the whole ti me a nd was being tra iled by Rich ie H ovis . Richie was tryi ng to ca tch u p to T im when he came ove r the TT jump an d sto p ped a t th e sweeper. He told us lat er that hi s shifti ng lever wa s bent, and he was scored ninth. Ed Wolleso n took over seco nd and thi rd went to Rick Lopez. A bent shifting lever was nothing that Hovis co uldn' t bend back into p lace. He got it all together in th e final rno to a nd led Linehan. However, Hovis came 10 the corner by the palm tree and sli p ped in th e mud a nd fell down. But as soon as Linehan approach ed , Hovis mounted back up and continued hi s lead . Former m ini racer Scott Mu rphy took third. A 1-2 tally ga ve Linehan th e overall victory a nd he was far a head of th e res t points wise. Wolleson took th e seco nd p lace trophy over Mu rphy and Hovis. J. C~_ p1llJlJA1X: . ~.
