Dirt Bike " Cen ter" UNBELIEVABLE PRICES ON ALL 1982 YZ's Ir IT's Ir TRI·MOTOS By Loretta Pipkin PLASTER CITY , CA , FEB . 14 Paul Eddy (Kearney Mesa Yamaha/Malcolm Smith) was definitely smooth on his YZ250 as he notched the overall win in the Seniors Revenge Hare Scrambles. It took him two hours and 12 minutes to do three, !lO'mile loops. Starting was in two waves , and Jeff Foland jumped to an early lead with Leon Livingston, Justin Brady and brother Ed fanning out. Eddy was right there cruising along. Livingston broke his pipe and found it couldn't be fixed in the pit. Jeff Foland faded with Brady while Eddy moved into first spot. . Ed Foland has killed the bugs in his new "mean green machine" and took second with Papa Bill Reams (Vet Ex) third. Patrick Lowerie led the 125cc Novice class, but the battle there was for second and third. David McCaf· ferty ,Jr. and Sean Cavins were dueling each other. McCafferty led Cavins at one place on the first loop, but on the second loop Cavins closed the gap to McCaffery's fender. Paul Eddy now had five minutes on Foland, and five more minutes separated Eddy and arch rival Torsten Corum. "No problems," said Eddy , who took the finish flag with an eight. minute lead. "It was a good course, and it kept you a wake. " Escondido Kawasaki -sponsored Ed Foland was second overall with Reams third . Bill Maki na iled down the fourth spot with Greg Woodington fifth. Pat Lowerie was first 125cc No vice. Cvins captured second and McCa fferty thi rd. "T he Sen iors certainly got th eir revenge," grumbled one of the seven ho t shoes who finished on the trailer . T wo turkeys were caugh t racing on th e highway. T his could jeopard ize a ll ra cing programs and will not be tolerated by any group putting on sanctioned races. No excuse, anyone in ou r District with future infractions won 't race!
