In the 80cc Intermediate class, Kyle Lewis, aboard a Kawasaki for Team Green and Kal-Gard, posted a super pair of wins. The first moto saw a duel from start to finish between Lewis, Tony Alessi (Thousand Oaks Yam) in the shotgun position and Jeff Barbacovi, aboard a Yamaha for Team Van Nuys Cycle. When the checkered flag waved them across the line, Lewis managed to hold strong for the moto win and Alessi fought off Barbacovi to take~ ond. When the warriors met on the grid for the second round, Lewis had a tough job cut out for him with Barbacovi right on his tail and Alessi pressuring both of them from third. Barbacovi and Alessi hounded Lewis over every inch of the track. When the night's racing drew to a close, Lewis emerged the victor, Barbacovi took home second place gold and third overall honors went home with Alessi. Cliff Cherman, piloting a Suzuki for the British Mt. Corp., blew the Open Beginners into the weeds for a super pair of aces. The first round of action saw Cherman battling to hold bad Mike Hawke (C-A) to second with Eric Cormier hustling his Husqvarna into the third place slot. Ed Tash and R.G. Nielsen, both Suzuki·mounted, rounded out the top five. When the machines came to life for their second encounter, it was Cherman once more in command. This time Cormier slipped into second and fought to the end to hold Tash to third and Hawke to fourth. By the end, Cherman zoomed across the finish line, leading the way for Cormier and Tash. Cherman took top honors for the night and won himself a ride in the stadium, Cormier emerged with second overall honors and third place honors went to Hawke. r--------------------~-----------------------I A~,,~ A=';'~~:i'2:J& ~~~ II Co4 17141771-2240 ~~~ The sporuors ofShawn Moran inv#e you ~'i:I Results BO BEG: ,.
