Rick Burgett holds off Jim Anderson in one of their Mt. V'IeW battles, back. Newman and Klaudt went for third again. Newman won out this time. When the 125cc Pros came up. Eric Hall (Yam) came off the line first, but Anderson took over in the first out of sight section. Once again, Anderson led a pull away from the third place rider. Hal1 stayed near but not close. Third place was where the excitement settled. Rick Bozarth (Suz). who only recently turned Pro. held the third spot with a super ride as Kevin White (Yam) and Cory Klaudt (Yam) poked at him from every angle. Klaudt final1y got by White at the halfway mark then went by Bozarth a lap later. White moved to fourth with two hips left. Round two was a repeat as far as Anderson and Hall were concerned, but the third place battle had a new face. Doug Lange (Suz) battled the eforts of White to cash in for half the moto before White was successful. Arne Hettman (Hon) led the first Open Pro class for one lap before Burgett took over. That was the last Hettman saw of Burgett. except his dust, for the rest of the day. The usually hot 125cc Intermediate riders were at it again today. The Hofenbredl brothers, Kevin and Larry, are always hanging in there close, but taday they got too close in the first moto. Bob Cameron (Suz) led the group with Kevin in second and Larry battling the crowd for third. When they got to the bottom of the first . downhill. the two Hofenbredls collided and Larry's Suzuki ripped off the radiator hose on Kevin's Honda. (I wonder if Kevin was steamed?) Larry dropped to the back of the pack, and Kevin was out. Up front, Keith Foidel (Yam) took the lead but held it only briefly before Bryan Sessions took over for the last half. ]n the second race, Cameron again led the Hofenbredls off the line. This time they avoided each other better. Kevin took the lead on the fmal lap for the win. Overall. first went to Cameron with 5-2. second was Foidel (2-4) and Sessions' 1·8 was good enough for third. Results PEE WEE JR: 1. Richie Ab<8rN lVoml; 2. Chod lVoml; 3.1lerNII Cuny lVom).
