the holeshotand held on for two laps.
Stanford had a spiu and fell back into
fifth place. Craig Gardner assumed
the lead and took the win over Andy
Barth.
The holeshot in the second moto belonged to Howard Rennalter. That
1uted until lap two when Barth took
over the race. Barth. who had been
f1aqing the past several weeks while
putnng his ride back together. did not
take long to get back to form as he
held on for first and the overall win
aboard his Yamaha.
Gary Gonzales. who had dislocated
his shoulder last week. just couldn't
stay out of the action and entered his
Maico in Open Intermediates. In the
first mota he took the lead and stayed
away from any trouble. Gonzales took
first with Doug McKee second. In the
second . moto Gonzales and Brent
Shermack tangled at the stan. It was
in the first tight tum and Gonzales
didn't realize that Shermack's front
wheel was pinned between Gonzales'
rear tire and fender. Gary just kept on
giving it the .gas and dragged
Shermack's bike about 10 feet before
he realized that something just wasn't
right. After they were untangled.
Gonzales was in last and worked his
_way back to the pack but could do no
better than fifth. McKee put his YaJDaha far in front and took the mota and
the overall win.
A special thanks goes out to all
people at O'Neal, Thor, and CUT

malting the night a succesa as many
