the other at the slightest bobble. Kwik
Keith (Hon) took second place, going
3-2. Too Tall Tim (KTM) was third
with a score of2-3.
The Intermediates and Novice classes
filled the stan area with riders eager to
race, the two classes having the largot
turnout. The Intermediates. wbo were
lined up in front of the stan gate, were
warned by starter Ron Vandergriff
(Magilla?) that "hedgers" would have
to line up backwards. The result? No
encroachers!
In the first moto, Jumpin' Tack was
into the first tum ahead of the pack.
However, Buggs Bill (Yam). a much
improved rider, snatched the lead
away from Jack going into the second
lap and held onto the lead until the
finish.
The second moto wasn't going to be
any different for Buggsy either. The
holeshot was his; the lead was his; the
overall win was his. Junk-it-Jess (Yam),
who got poor stans in bo.th motos, did
a rome-fram-behind finish each time to
take second place with a score of 2-3.
Third place was garnered by Jaundice
John (Yam) who arrived at the track
late and had to race with no practice
laps. In moto two, John had the track
wired and ran second to the finish line
scoring a total of 7·2 for third place.
The Novice class shared the track
with the Intermediates, having to eat
smoke at the start gate. Bubbles Bruce
(Yam) went to the head of his class immediately, snatching the lead from
Reject Randy (Hus) on the first lap of
moto one and then going wire to wire
in moto two for frrst place overall without his thumperl Endo Eric (Yam)
found himself in the middle of the
pack in both motos but was able to
catch up to the leaders at each finish
to take second place with a 2-2 score.
Reject Randy chalked up a 6·3 tally to
steal third place brass from four class·
mates with the same score. Nee-HiNorm (Mai), ~Laid Dale (Mai), and
Boner Bob (Yam) were founh, fifth
and sixth, respectively.
Reamer Richard (Hus), who didn't
do very well in the Novice class
(finishing eighth), rode the AME Vets
class also. On a borrowed Yamaha,
Reamer did a spectacular, breathtaking get-off when he overshot a
berm and literally flew at least 20 feet
in the air, coming down hard. At this
writing, Richard is recuperating and
looking forward to his next ride.
